Today we not only celebrated the Patronal Festival of St. Luke’s Church we also commemorated 100 years since Moe was proclaimed a Parish of its own separating from Trafalgar and Yarragon. Moe with Trafalgar and Yarragon had been part of the Gippsland Forest Mission since the late 1800’s. The first services in Moe were held in the Mechanics Hall until Holy Trinity Church was built and opened on the 3rd December 1895.
In 1925 Moe became a Parish in its own right with the first Rector being the Reverend T.H.Watts
