Moe-Newborough Parish Today
Today, the Moe-Newborough parish is in the process of finding a new Parish Priest (Rector). Services are provided by a number of retired priests (locums) of the diocese on a Sunday Roster. Midweek Services are conducted by the retired priests in the Parish.
The Parish is governed by an active parish council, consisting of 12 members. The Council meet monthly, subcommittees or working parties may be formed to deal with specific matters. The parish has three licensed lay readers and one licensed assistant pastoral care all of whom play a significant role in supporting the ministry of the Parish.
At Moe-Newborough we aim to:
We pride ourselves on being:
- Rich in Anglican worship and theology
- A caring community
- Active in our community and holding regular worship services.
We like to enjoy our worship and fellowship with a cuppa and a chat following most services, as well as our work on parish council and the activities we undertake in our missions.
We have three Op Shops. One’s in Moe, Newborough and Yallourn North. These are staffed from an amazing group of people from the church and community who freely give their time so the shops can serve the church and the community.
In a time when issues of climate change and the wastage in our society are so critical, OP Shops play a significant role in recycling a variety of things that otherwise might end up in the tip.

As an Anglican Parish, our identity is not just described in who we are as a Parish but also in our being a part of the Diocese of Gippsland. Consequently, you might find it helpful to view the Diocesan Website as well.
Our Vision for the Parish, which we are reviewing, at the moment, will be based on the Diocesan Vision
